The New Financial Services Landscape: A Policy Discussion

September 19, 2014

With rapid growth in credit union membership and an American public that is increasingly skeptical of traditional financial institutions since the 2008 bank bailouts, The Hill convened a discussion on the new financial services landscape. Questions asked included: What key issues are on the horizon for the financial services industry? What policies will help – or hinder – credit unions as they look to continue to build their membership base?

The event, which was held on Wednesday, September 17, is now available for you to watch in its entirety.

Featuring:

Rep. Denny Heck (D, WA-10)

Rep. Rob Woodall (R, GA-07)

Rep. Brad Sherman (D, CA-30)

in conversation with The Hill’s Kevin Cirilli

And a roundtable discussion with:

Steve Pociask, American Consumer Institute

Dr. Michael Mandel, Progressive Policy Institute

Bill Hampel, Credit Union National Association
