Great Lakes Credit Union Brings Hidden Cash Craze to Toledo-area

June 26, 2014

It all started in San Francisco when a millionaire with a lot of cash to burn decided to pay it forward in a big way. Now, the hidden cash craze is coming to the Toledo-area, and it’s all thanks to Great Lakes Credit Union.

Beginning June 25, GLCU will be giving away cold hard cash daily in a scavenger hunt for which many have been waiting. Much like Hidden Cash, in which an anonymous man hid $100 cash in envelopes throughout major cities, GLCU will offer clues to where cash is hidden.

Each day, beginning Wednesday, GLCU will hide $50 cash in Perrysburg, Sylvania, and Toledo. All you have to do is find the cash is follow clues provided.

Hitting ‘Like’ on the Great Lakes Credit Union Facebook page or following them on Twitter will bring you clues as to where the cash is hidden throughout the three cities.

Scavengers who find the hidden cash are asked to take a photo of their findings and upload them to Twitter and Facebook.

“Fifty dollars can go a long way. Use it to fill up your gas tank, contribute to your groceries or possibly give the cash to someone in need or donate it to a local organization. We want our local communities to know that we care, and we want to pay it forward to the community that supports us,” said GLCU President and CEO, David Seeger.

So, don’t forget to Like and Follow Great Lakes Credit Union on Facebook and Twitter. Here’s a sneak peek at the first clue: “To find the first drop you must go to the place where information is found. While there, you can learn all the trails, hang out with horses, or relax listening to the sound of the fountain.”
