Credit unions use ATV and snowmobile rides to raise $4,000
The Aroostook Chapter of Credit Unions organized an ATV run in the St. John Valley on Wednesday, June 11, to raise money for Ending Hunger in Maine, Special Olympics and the Credit Union Legislative Action Council.
In conjunction with its snowmobile run in February, the chapter raised more than $4,000 to split among the three organizations, according to a press release from The County Federal Credit Union. Donations were received from sponsors and rider registrations.
The ATV riders covered a 68-mile loop, starting at Lakeview Restaurant in St. Agatha. The group traveled through the countryside and woods, with stops in Fort Kent and Soldier Pond.
The Aroostook County Chapter of Credit Unions includes Acadia Federal Credit Union, based in Fort Kent; NorState Federal Credit Union, based in Madawaska; and The County Federal Credit Union, based in Caribou.
